Water can be used to adjust consistency without adding calories.

1

Add oil to a pot, filling it about two centimeters deep for frying.

2

Add 3 tablespoons of homemade ghee to the oil.

3

In another pot, add 1 and a quarter cups of water and 1 and a half cups of sugar, along with 1 teaspoon of rose essence. Stir and heat on medium until the sugar dissolves, then remove from heat.

4

In a bowl, sift 2 cups of gram flour twice.

5

Add 1 and a quarter cups of water to the sifted gram flour and mix until dissolved, achieving a melted chocolate-like consistency.

6

Add a quarter teaspoon of egg yellow powder to the batter and mix thoroughly.

7

Heat the oil and ghee mixture from earlier for frying.

8

Using a cooking spoon with holes, place the batter onto it and allow it to drip into the hot oil, frying until golden brown. Alternatively, use a murku machine or any spoon with holes.

9

Remove the fried batter from the oil and let it cool.

10

Return the syrup to medium heat and add the fried batter, cooking until the syrup dries out. Optionally, add more egg yellow powder for color if desired.

11

Once cooled, scoop half a palm full of the mixture and roll it into a ball to form a laddu. Place it on a tray.

12

Garnish the laddus with colorful almonds, pressing them down slightly.

13

Taste test the laddus and enjoy.
