Traditionally served during monsoon seasons or as street food, pakoras are a staple at gatherings and celebrations. Today, they have gained popularity worldwide, with various regional adaptations and fillings.

1 medium Red Onion
1 medium potato

green chilies
1 teaspoon lemon juice

Slice the medium Red Onion using a mandolin or by hand into thin slices.

Break apart the sliced onions.

Slice the medium potato into thin slices using the mandolin or by hand.

Rinse the sliced potatoes and squeeze out as much water as possible.

Chop a handful of coriander finely and add it to the bowl.

Add green chilies to the mixture for flavor.

Smash cumin seeds and coriander seeds using a mortar and pestle, spice grinder, or a rolling pin in a Ziploc bag.

Add salt to taste and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to the mixture.

Mix all the ingredients together thoroughly.

Let the mixture sit for 15 minutes to bring out the water.

After 15 minutes, add 1/2 cup of chickpea flour (Basin) to the mixture.

If the batter is too runny, add more flour as needed.

Preheat the air fryer at the highest setting for 5 minutes.

Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil to prevent sticking.

Place the pakora mixture in the basket, ensuring they are not touching.

Spray the top of the pakoras with more cooking oil.

Cook in the air fryer at 350°F for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping halfway through and spraying with oil again if needed.

Once cooked, sprinkle Chaat Masala on top for extra flavor.
