1

Activate the yeast by mixing 15 grams of fresh yeast with 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, 1/2 deciliter of lukewarm water, and 2 spoons of plain flour. Let it sit for about 10 minutes.

2

Add 500 grams of flour (minus the 3 teaspoons used for the yeast), 300 milliliters of lukewarm water, and 2 teaspoons of salt to the yeast mixture. Mix until combined.

3

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until it is uniform and not sticky.

4

Coat a bowl with a little oil, place the dough in the bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

5

Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).

6

Gently coax the risen dough out of the bowl and shape it into a dome, ensuring the center is higher than the edges.

7

Make deep lines in the dough about an inch apart using a spatula, without cutting all the way to the pan.

8

Brush the top with an egg wash (beaten egg with a little water) and sprinkle with salt.

9

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes until golden brown.
