Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. 2In a saucepan, heat the milk and 1/2 cup of butter until warm (not hot).
  3. 3Add the warm milk mixture to the flour mixture, then add the eggs and mix until combined.
  4. 4Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  5. 5Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  6. 6Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. 7Once risen, roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  8. 8Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
  9. 9Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  10. 10Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
