- ●4 cups all-purpose flour
- ●1/2 cup granulated sugar
- ●1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- ●1 tsp salt
- ●1 cup whole milk
- ●1/2 cup unsalted butter
- ●2 large eggs
- ●1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- ●1/2 cup brown sugar
- ●1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- ●1 cup powdered sugar
- ●2-3 tbsp milk (for icing)
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- 2In a saucepan, heat the milk and 1/2 cup of butter until warm (not hot).
- 3Add the warm milk mixture to the flour mixture, then add the eggs and mix until combined.
- 4Gradually add the remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
- 5Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- 6Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 7Once risen, roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- 8Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon evenly.
- 9Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- 10Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
- 11The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- 12While the rolls are baking, mix powdered sugar with milk to create a smooth icing.
- 13Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls before serving.

- 4Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 5Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 6Once risen, roll the dough out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- 7Spread the apple butter evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with cinnamon, brown sugar, and walnuts if using.
- 8Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- 9Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- 10Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- 11While the rolls are baking, mix the powdered sugar with enough milk to create a smooth icing. Drizzle over the warm rolls before serving.
