Swedish Cinnamon Rolls

Gently heat the milk in the microwave for about 30 seconds until comfortable to the touch.
Ensure butter and egg are at room temperature.
In a large mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients.
Add the egg to the dry ingredients, then add the warm milk.
Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes until smooth and bouncy.
Shape the dough into a ball and let it rise for about 90 minutes in a barely warm oven (around 100°F or 40°C).
While the dough rises, prepare the filling by mixing the ingredients until smooth.
Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a large 19-inch (50 cm) square.
Spread the filling over one half of the dough, then fold the other half over like a book.
Using a pizza roller, cut the dough into 12 long strips.
Twist each strip gently and shape it into a spiral, tucking the end underneath and pressing down to keep it in place.
Cover the tray and let the buns rise again for another hour or up to 90 minutes if the kitchen is cool.
Brush the buns with an egg wash before baking.
Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
Sprinkle with pearl sugar and bake for 15 to 17 minutes.
