Panna Cotta

Originating from the northern Italian region of Piedmont, Panna Cotta translates to 'cooked cream.' Traditionally made with simple ingredients, it showcases the beauty of Italian desserts that emphasize texture and flavor. This creamy delight is often served with fruit sauces or caramel, making it a versatile treat. Today, Panna Cotta is enjoyed worldwide, with countless variations incorporating different flavors and toppings.

Fresh fruit provides natural sweetness and flavor.
Dissolve 1 tbsp of gelatin crystals in 1/4 cup of water by gently mixing.
Heat some water in a saucepan, then turn off the stove and remove it from the heat.
Use the hot water to dissolve the gelatin completely without adding hot water directly to it.
In a small saucepan, add 200 mL of whole milk and 200 mL of fresh cream, keeping the flame on medium-low.
Add 1/4 cup of granulated sugar to the milk and cream mixture and mix well.
Add 1/2 tsp of pure vanilla extract to the mixture.
Pour the dissolved gelatin into the milk and cream mixture and mix thoroughly.
Pour the mixture into small glasses or bowls, cover with cling wrap, and refrigerate to set (do not freeze).
After refrigerating, check if the panna cotta is set.
To serve, you can either garnish directly with blueberry compote or remove it from the cup.
To remove, place the cup in hot water to loosen the panna cotta, then gently release it with a knife.
Garnish the panna cotta with blueberry compote or other toppings like raspberry or strawberry sauce.
