1 teaspoon dried chili
1 scotch bonnet pepper
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon grains of selen
1/2 teaspoon grains of paradise
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup water
4 ripe plantains
1/2 cup peanuts

Add ginger, dried chili, fresh pepper, cloves, grains of selen, grains of paradise, and African nutmeg into an asanka.

Grind the mixture until well combined, using a blender if preferred.

Add onions to the mixture and continue grinding until well mixed.

Add salt to the mixture and grind until well combined.

Add small amounts of water to loosen the mixture if it is too thick.

Peel the ripened plantains without cutting the flesh, then cut them into quarters.

Mix the cut plantains with the spiced mixture until well combined and set aside to marinate.

Heat oil in a pot until hot.

Carefully add the marinated plantains into the hot oil and fry until preferred consistency, stirring continuously to ensure even cooking.

Strain the fried plantains from the oil and transfer to a colander lined with tissue paper to absorb excess oil.

Optionally, add peanuts to the fried plantains before serving.
