1/2 cup pigeon peas
1/2 cup washed green gram lentils
1/2 cup washed orange lentils
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups water
2 tablespoons ghee
2 dry red chili
1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
5 curry leaves
1 tablespoon chopped ginger
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 onion
2 chopped green chili
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup fresh green coriander leaves
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon fenugreek powder

Wash rice and lentils thoroughly and soak them in water for 30 minutes.

Add soaked rice, pigeon peas, green gram, and orange lentils to a pressure cooker.

Add turmeric and salt to the cooker.

Close the lid and cook until you hear one whistle, then reduce heat and cook until rice and lentils are totally mashed.

Add water to adjust the consistency and boil, then let it cook on low flame until thickened.
