Surinamese Spring Rolls

1 chicken bouillon cube
4 bags of Chinese vegetables (each bag 400gr)
150 gr shredded chicken
1 tbsp kentjoer powder
1 tbsp laos powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp ajinomoto
Salt to taste
550 gr of all-purpose flour
10 eggs
250 grams cornstarch
A pinch of salt
A pinch of black pepper
1/2 cup of oil
1400 ml whole milk
1 cup of plain flour
3/4 cup of water

Step 1: Heat 1/2 cup of cooking oil in a pan. Fry the chicken until light brown. Shred the chicken.

Step 2: Heat 1 cup of cooking oil in a pan. Slice the onions into thin half-rings and chop the garlic. Add bay leaves and chicken bouillon cube. Fry the onions until light brown. Add shredded chicken and cook for 2 minutes. Add the Chinese vegetables, spices, and salt to taste. Cook for 8-10 minutes over medium-high heat, keeping the vegetables crispy. Turn off the heat and transfer the filling to a dish to cool down.

Step 3: In a deep bowl, add eggs, cornstarch, all-purpose flour, black pepper, salt, oil, and milk. Mix everything until smooth and lump-free to make the batter.

Step 4: Mix 1 cup of plain flour with 3/4 cup of water until lump-free to make the glue.

Step 5: Use a crepe pan to make sheets. Place a spring roll sheet on a clean plate. Place a portion of the filling horizontally across the bottom third of the sheet, leaving some space on each side. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, tucking it in snugly. Fold the left and right sides of the sheet towards the center, creating an envelope around the filling. Roll the sheet tightly upwards until you reach the top corner. Moisten the top corner with a bit of glue to help seal the spring roll. Continue rolling until tightly sealed. Repeat with remaining sheets and filling.

Step 6: Heat oil in a frying pan to about 180-190 degrees Celsius and fry the spring rolls until golden brown on both sides.
