1/2 tsp Asafoetida
1 & 1/2 tbsp Black Mustard Seeds Powder
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
Salt (as per taste)
1 cup White Gram Lentils (soaked)
Water (as required)
1/4 tsp Asafoetida
1/4 tsp Salt
Oil (for frying)
Water (for soaking)

Prepare the Kanji drink by mixing 1 & 1/2 ltr water with 1/2 tsp asafoetida, 1 & 1/2 tbsp black mustard seeds powder, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp red chilli powder, and salt to taste.

In a separate bowl, soak 1 cup white gram lentils in water.

After soaking, drain the lentils and mix with 1/4 tsp asafoetida and 1/4 tsp salt.

Shape the lentil mixture into vadas and fry them in oil until golden brown.
