1 cup rice
1/4 cup split yellow moong dal
4 cups water
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp ghee
1/4 cup cashews
1/4 cup chopped fresh coriander

Rinse the rice and moong dal together under cold water until the water runs clear.

In a large pot, combine the rinsed rice, moong dal, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes, or until the rice and dal are soft and cooked through.

In a small pan, heat the ghee over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and black pepper, and sauté for a minute until fragrant.

Add the cashews to the ghee and fry until they are golden brown.

Stir in the turmeric powder and salt, mixing well.

Pour the ghee mixture over the cooked rice and dal, and gently mix to combine.

Garnish with chopped coriander before serving.
