1

Prepare the spice mix by combining the spices in advance, as it takes time.

2

Heat 1 cup of oil in a large pot until hot.

3

Add 250 grams of sliced onions to the oil and cook until golden brown.

4

Once the onions are golden brown, add 2 tablespoons of ginger-garlic paste to the pot.

5

Add 250 grams of chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften, covering the pot to speed up the process.

6

Once the tomatoes are soft, add the meat and biryani masala to the pot.

7

Add green chilies and mix well, then cover and cook on low heat for 15 minutes.

8

In a separate large pot, fill with water (approximately 1 liter) and bring to a boil.

9

Once the water is boiling, add 500 grams of soaked basmati rice and cook until par-boiled.

10

Drain the rice and set aside.

11

Layer the cooked meat mixture with the par-boiled rice in the pot.

12

If desired, add boiled potatoes, sliced tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and mint leaves as layers.

13

Dissolve saffron color in water and drizzle it over the layers.

14

Cover the pot tightly and cook on low heat to allow the flavors to meld.

15

After cooking, serve the biryani and enjoy.
