1 tsp fish sauce
3 medium tomatoes
3 tbs ketchup
Spring onion for garnishing

Roughly mince 2 medium onions.

Roughly mince 1 shallot.

Smash and mince 5 cloves of garlic.

Mix all well.

Add 500 gr minced meat of choice to the mixture of onion, shallot, and garlic.

Add 1 egg, 1.5 tbs corn starch, lots of black pepper, ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp soy sauce, and 1 tsp fish sauce.

Mix well until smooth and sticky.

Roughly dice 3 medium sized tomatoes.

Shape meatballs using 1 full tbs for each ball.

Heat 1 tbs oil in a pot and brown meatballs in batches, they don't have to be cooked fully.

Remove burnt bits and some oil.

Sautee remaining mixture of onion, shallot, and garlic.

Add chopped tomatoes and 3 tbs of ketchup.

Cook for 10-12 minutes.

Add meatballs and about 100ml of water to submerge them.

Season with salt and sugar to taste.

Simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes, or until sauce thickens and meatballs are tender.

Serve hot with steamed white rice or baguette, and garnish with chopped spring onions.
