1

For the top layer of the cake: Combine softened butter and sugar. Spread the mixture at the bottom of your mold and allow it to bake in a preheated oven for 10 minutes at 350°F (180°C).

2

Remove the mold from the oven and sprinkle with sliced almonds. Wash, halve, and pit the mirabelles. Place the halved fruit on top of the sliced almonds and set aside.

3

For the dough: Using a hand mixer, cream the softened butter and sugar together until smooth. Add the eggs and mix until well combined.

4

Add the flour, baking powder, almond powder, and mix. Then add the milk and vanilla extract, whisking until everything is well combined. Gradually add the flour in thirds, mixing well after each addition until completely smooth.

5

Wash the mirabelles, halve them, and remove the pits. Fold the fruit into the batter using a spatula. Pour the batter over the mirabelles in the mold.

6

Bake in the center of the oven (preheated to 350°F / 180°C) for 30 minutes or until the top of the cake is golden and springy (a toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean).

7

After removing from the mold, you can serve the cake as is. Alternatively, you can place it in the oven on grill mode for 5 minutes to brown the sliced almonds.

8

And there you have it, it's ready!
