Beef and Carrot Stir Fry

Beef and carrot stir fry is a popular dish, showcasing the balance of flavors and the technique's efficiency. In modern adaptations, variations include different proteins or additional vegetables, making it a versatile weeknight meal.

Add diced beef steak to a bowl.
Sprinkle all-purpose seasoning over the beef.
Add steak seasoning to the beef.
Sprinkle in smoked paprika.
Add roasted garlic (or garlic powder/garlic granules if unavailable).
Add salt to taste.
Pour in dark soy sauce (Kikkoman recommended).
Add corn flour (cornstarch in the U.S.).
Mix everything well, using hands if preferred.
Cover with cling film and marinate in the fridge for about 2 hours.
Chop bell peppers (all colors), onions, and carrots.
Boil water and pre-cook carrots for 3 minutes.
Prepare the slurry: add soy sauce, oyster sauce, toasted sesame oil, and brown sugar to a bowl and mix.
After marinating, heat toasted sesame oil in a pan.
Add garlic and ginger paste to the hot oil and stir.
Add the marinated diced steak to the pan and cook on high heat (but not too high) for 7-8 minutes until meat is not red anymore.
Remove the cooked steak from the pan.
Add more garlic and ginger paste to the pan.
Add onions and stir, frying for 2-3 minutes until slightly crunchy.
Add pre-cooked carrots and stir, frying for 3-4 minutes.
Add chopped bell peppers and stir, frying for another 3-4 minutes.
Add the cooked beef back into the pan and stir.
Cook for about 3 minutes.
Add the slurry to the pan and mix everything together.
Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce is ready.
