Cover diced beef in the seasoned flour.
Melt butter and oil in the slow cooker.
Add the floured beef to the slow cooker and sauté for about 10 minutes.
Finely chop garlic while the beef is sautéing.
Remove beef from the slow cooker once browned.
Add shallots to the slow cooker and sauté until ready.
Add garlic, salt, pepper, and brown sugar to the shallots and sauté for a few minutes.
Remove shallots and garlic from the slow cooker.
Pour dark beer into the slow cooker and sauté for a few minutes to evaporate the alcohol.
Transfer the beef and shallots back into the slow cooker.
Add bouquet garni and a little bit of nutmeg to the slow cooker.
Switch the slow cooker to low mode and cook for 7 hours.
Cut the baguette in half and spread mustard on each slice.
Add the mustard-covered baguette into the slow cooker during the cooking process.
