Chicken Momos

Originating from Tibet, momos are a beloved street food in the Himalayan region, often filled with meat or vegetables. Traditionally served with a spicy dipping sauce, they symbolize hospitality and community. Today, momos have gained popularity across India and beyond, with various regional adaptations and fillings, making them a versatile dish enjoyed by many.

Mix all-purpose flour and water in a bowl until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and sauté chopped onions until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Add minced garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
Stir in ground chicken, soy sauce, salt, and pepper; cook until chicken is no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
Mix in chopped cabbage, grated carrot, and coriander leaves; cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat and let the filling cool slightly.
Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a thin circle.
Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each circle.
Fold the dough over the filling and pinch to seal, forming a dumpling.
Steam the momos in a bamboo steamer for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
Serve hot with dipping sauce.
