DeLallo Spicy Passata Chili with Calabrian Peppers

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat until shimmering.

Add chopped onion, garlic, bell peppers, carrots, and celery; sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

Increase heat to medium-high and add ground beef; cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-6 minutes.

Stir in canned tomatoes, passata, and chopped calabrian peppers; mix well.

Add kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and bay leaves; stir to combine.

Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low.

Cover and let simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Remove bay leaves before serving.

Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
