Bagels

Put warm water into a bowl with yeast.

Add honey and mix.

Add salt and a little bit of sugar.

Let the yeast sit until it bubbles and foams.

Start adding flour to create a dry dough.

Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until soft and not sticky.

Oil a bowl and place the dough inside to rise for about 2 hours in a warm place.

After 2 hours, portion the dough into 12 pieces.

Roll each piece into a ball and form into bagel shapes with a hole in the middle.

Cover the bagels and let them rise for about 30 minutes.

Boil water with honey added for flavor.

Boil each bagel for 1 minute on each side (or 2 minutes for a chewier bagel).

Place boiled bagels on a baking sheet.

Prepare egg wash with 1 egg and a drop of water, then apply it to the bagels.

Top with coarse salt or other toppings if desired.

Bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
