BRBRmain
6 servings
Servings4
600 g feijoada kit (containing carne seca, linguiça calabresa, bacon, pork pieces, costelinha de porco)
pimenta do reino
folha de louro
pimenta dedo de moça
banha (or oil)
1 cebola picada
3 dentes de alho picados
meio pacote de feijão preto
water
1

Open the feijoada kit and pour its contents into a bowl.

2

Remove the folha de louro and pimenta dedo de moça from the kit and set aside.

3

Rinse the meats to remove excess salt and soak them in hot water for 10 minutes, changing the water once.

4

Reserve the bacon and calabresa with a little water to reduce salt, or optionally, you can soak them with the other meats.

5

After 10 minutes, rinse the meats again and set them aside.

6

Soak half a package of black beans overnight to speed up cooking.

7

Drain and rinse the soaked beans.

8

In a pressure cooker, add some banha and let it melt (or use oil).

9

Add 1 chopped onion and sauté until it softens.

10

Add 3 chopped garlic cloves and sauté for a bit until fragrant.

11

Add the meats (bacon, calabresa, and other pork pieces) and mix, allowing them to brown evenly.

12

Once browned, add the rinsed black beans to the pot and mix everything together.

13

Add the folha de louro and pimenta from the kit, plus two additional folhas de louro if desired.

14

Add enough water to cover the beans and meats, but do not add salt yet.

15

Seal the pressure cooker and cook on medium heat for 30 minutes after it starts to whistle.

16

After 30 minutes, open the pressure cooker to check the feijoada, which should be well-cooked and thick.
