Cut up 4 cups of broccoli.
Bring a pot of water to a boil.
Take the pot off the stove and place the broccoli into the hot water for 2 minutes.
Drain the broccoli in a colander.
Line a plate or tray with napkins or paper towel and spread the broccoli around the plate, then put it in the fridge to cool.
Cut up 1 strip of imitation crab meat, cutting it in half lengthwise and then into thirds or fourths, and peel the chunks apart.
Put the broccoli in a large bowl and add the shredded crab.
Add 1 cup of mayonnaise, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt to the bowl.
Mix all the ingredients together until well combined.
Chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before serving.
