Coconut Bake

4 cups flour
3 tbsp sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tbsp dry milk
1 cup grated coconut
2 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon yeast
3 pounds shortening
1/2 teaspoon spice
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Add all dry ingredients together in a bowl.

Mix 4 cups of flour, 3 tbsp of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 3 tbsp dry milk, 1 cup of grated coconut, 2 and 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of yeast, 1/2 teaspoon of spice, and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg.

Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture and add liquid gradually while mixing until it forms a ball.

Knead the dough for a little while.

Grease a bowl with shortening and place the dough inside, covering it to let it rise for at least 45 minutes.

After rising, grease pans with butter or shortening.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Roll out the dough to fit the size of the pans.

Place the dough in the preheated oven and bake until golden brown and well done.
