1 cup barley flour
1/2 cup rice flour
1/4 cup urad dal (split black gram)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups water
1/4 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup chopped green chilies
2 tbsp chopped cilantro
1 tbsp oil (for cooking)

Soak urad dal in water for 4-6 hours or overnight.

Drain the soaked urad dal and blend it with 1/2 cup of water to make a smooth batter.

In a large bowl, combine barley flour, rice flour, cumin seeds, and salt.

Add the blended urad dal to the flour mixture and mix well.

Gradually add water to achieve a pourable batter consistency.

Stir in chopped onions, green chilies, and cilantro into the batter.

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.

Pour a ladleful of batter onto the skillet and spread it into a thin circle.

Cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges lift and the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more oil as needed.

Serve hot with chutney or sambar.
