1 cup apricot jam
1.5 cups milk
2 eggs
1.5 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup golden syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla essence

Melt butter in a pot over medium heat.

Add apricot jam, sugar, and white vinegar to the melted butter and stir until combined.

Add milk and stir until the sugar is melted and the mixture is smooth.

Let the mixture cool before adding to the dry ingredients.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt for the dry ingredients.

In another bowl, whisk together milk and eggs.

Combine the wet and dry ingredients gradually to avoid lumps, mixing until smooth.

For the syrup, combine butter, sugar, golden syrup, water, and vanilla essence in a pot and bring to a boil for about 5 minutes.
