1 cup split yellow moong dal
4 cups water
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 medium tomatoes, pureed
2 green chilies, slit
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
2 tbsp ghee or oil
Salt to taste
