Set aside the waffle batter.
Use a hand mixer to beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Fold the stiff egg whites into the waffle batter using a rubber spatula until well combined.
Preheat the electric waffle maker until it shows an orange light.
Lightly grease the waffle maker with butter to prevent sticking.
Pour the waffle batter into the preheated waffle maker until it is filled.
Close the waffle maker and set a timer for 5 minutes.
Check for doneness after 5 minutes; if not brown enough, extend cooking time by 3 to 5 minutes until desired crispiness is achieved.
Remove the waffle from the waffle maker and repeat the process with the remaining batter.
Dust the finished waffles with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup, butter, or honey, and fresh fruit.
