Today, they are enjoyed in various forms across Portugal, often served with bread and wine, and have gained popularity in neighboring countries as well.

Discuss the lengthy cooking time and marination process for the pork dish.
Cut the pork butt into 2-inch chunks, trimming excess fat as needed.
Put on gloves and place the pork chunks into a bowl.
Add all the minced garlic, some ground pepper, regular salt, and a little olive oil to the pork.
Add the homegrown bay leaves to the bowl with the pork.
Mix the ingredients to coat the pork without submerging it completely.
Show previously marinated pork that has been marinating for 2-3 days.
Place the marinated pork into a pan with the marinade ingredients.
Preheat the oven to 275-300 degrees Fahrenheit and place the pan in the oven.
Cook the pork for 5-6 hours, checking once an hour and ensuring there is enough liquid in the pan.
Peel the medium-sized potatoes and cut them into wedges.
Put on gloves and mix the potato wedges with 2 bay leaves, salt, 3/4 cup minced garlic, and olive oil (about 1-1.5 cups).
Add a generous amount of paprika to the potatoes and mix well.
Transfer the seasoned potatoes to a pan.
Cook the potatoes in the oven at 300 degrees for 3-5 hours, checking for desired crunchiness.
