1 kg (2 1/4 pounds) salt cod, soaked for 24 hours
1 kg (2 1/4 pounds) small potatoes
1/2 teaspoon paprika
200 ml (about 1 cup) olive oil
1/2 teaspoon pepper
5 cloves of garlic
1 medium onion
Juice of one lemon
Parsley (to taste)
1 teaspoon salt

Cut the cod into pieces.

Peel the potatoes and cut them in half.

Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF).

In the bottom of a glass baking dish, place the sliced onions and 100 ml (1/2 cup) olive oil.

On top of the onion and the olive oil, place the cod pieces, potatoes and the unpeeled crushed garlic.

Season with salt, pepper, paprika, lemon juice and the remaining olive oil.

Bake for about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Occasionally, baste the cod and the potatoes with the sauce.

Turn off the oven, sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve.
