Asparagus Soup

1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups vegetable broth
1 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tbsp lemon juice
