1

Rinse the salted fish to remove visible salt.

2

Soak the rinsed fish overnight, changing the water several times.

3

Boil the soaked fish in high heat for about 10 to 15 minutes until it starts to break apart.

4

Strain the fish and let it air dry for a couple of minutes.

5

Flake the fish using a fork, but not too fine as it will continue to break up.

6

In a pot, heat 4 to 6 tablespoons of olive oil on high heat.

7

Add chopped onion and hot pepper to the pot, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 2 minutes.

8

Add minced garlic and all other ingredients to the pot, stirring for 1 minute to release flavors.

9

Add the boiled and flaked salted fish to the pot, stirring to combine and prevent burning.

10

Taste the mixture and rinse or boil the fish again if it's too salty.

11

Add black pepper to taste and mash the mixture to meld the flavors.

12

Serve with your choice of bread, such as coconut bread.
