Soak the Khubani (apricots) in water until soft, then drain and set aside.
Prepare the sugar syrup by dissolving 1 tsp of sugar in 1 cup of water and set aside.
In a saucepan, heat 750 ml of milk and mix in 2.5 tbsp of custard powder and 4 tbsp of sugar, stirring until thickened.
In a separate bowl, mix the remaining 100 ml of milk with a few drops of vanilla essence and set aside.
Take the packet of bread and cut it into slices or pieces.
Layer the soaked Khubani at the bottom of a serving dish.
Add a layer of the prepared custard over the Khubani.
Dip the bread pieces in the sugar syrup and layer them on top of the custard.
Pour the remaining milk mixture over the bread layer.
Whip the cream with 6 tsp of sugar or 1/2 cup of condensed milk and 1/2 tsp of vanilla essence until soft peaks form.
Spread the whipped cream over the top layer and refrigerate until set.
