½ cup red lentil
½ cup green gram
¼ cup cooking oil
1 bay leaf
4 cardamom
2 sticks cinnamon
4 cloves
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp cumin seed
1 tsp turmeric powder
2 large onion
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
4-5 green chili
salt
½ tsp garam masala
1 tbsp ghee
2 tbsp fried onions

Mix rice and lentils together and wash them for 2-3 times.

Soak the rice and lentils for 30 minutes.

Turn on the rice cooker, add oil and wait 1 minute.

Add bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper and cumin seeds. Fry for 1 minute.

Now add onion and fry until soft.

Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric and salt. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.

Add rice and lentils mixture and green chili. Mix well and fry for 2-3 minutes.

Now add water and garam masala, mix well, close the rice cooker lid and cook until rice cooker goes to the 'Keep Warm' mode automatically.

Add ghee and fried onions over the Khichdi and keep the rice cooker on 'Keep Warm' mode for 10 minutes more.
