1

Welcome to Pakiad Chef. I'm Rick. Today, we're making a red lentil curry and naan.

2

Rinse and drain red lentils, then add them to a pan with vegetable stock or water.

3

Bring the lentils to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for about 12 minutes, adding more water if necessary.

4

Season the lentils with salt while they cook.

5

In a separate bowl, combine self-raising flour and yogurt to make a dough, adding about a tablespoon of oil to soften it.

6

Cover the dough with wrap and let it rest while the lentils cook.

7

In a marble-coated non-stick pan, heat a little oil and add chopped onion, sautéing until browned.

8

Add minced garlic and ginger to the onions and cook until fragrant.

9

Stir in curry powder, cumin, chili flakes, and turmeric, cooking on low heat to toast the spices.

10

Add canned tomatoes to the pan, cutting them up with scissors, and stir in a tablespoon of tomato paste.

11

Cook the mixture for about 3 minutes to combine flavors, then add the cooked lentils to the pan.

12

Let the curry cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

13

Prepare naan by dividing the dough into four or six pieces, rolling them out, and cooking them in the pan.
