Marinate chicken with 1 cup yogurt, 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste, 1.5 teaspoons salt, and black pepper for 10 minutes.

In a kadhai, heat refined oil and fry 2 medium-sized sliced onions until soft but not browned.

Add whole spices: cinnamon stick, green cardamom, cloves, and black pepper to the oil and let them crackle.

Add the marinated chicken to the kadhai and cover to cook.

Prepare a paste with 1 tablespoon poppy seeds, cumin, 1 stick cinnamon, 2-3 green cardamom, and 2-3 cloves in a blender.

Once the chicken has released its water, add the prepared paste and 1 large chopped tomato and 1 small chopped bell pepper to the kadhai.

Add a cube of butter for flavor and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally.

Add fresh coriander leaves and cook for an additional 5 minutes before serving.
