Water-1/2 cup

Onion-5 medium size(sliced)
Oil-1/2 cup(fried onion oil)

Green Cardamoms-10 nos
Cinnamon-2 inches
Black Cardamom-1 nos
Bay Leaves-2 nos
Chicken(with bones)-1 1/2 Kg
Ginger Garlic Paste-2 tbsp
Yoghurt-1/2 cup
Coriander Powder-2 tbsp
Red Chilli Powder-1 1/2 tbsp

Birista(coarsely ground)
Water-1/4 cup
Garam Masala-1 tsp
Kewra Water-1 tsp

In a grinder jar, add cashews, melon seeds, desiccated coconut, poppy seeds & water. Make a smooth paste.

In a pan, heat oil over medium flame and add sliced onion. Fry till golden brown then take out and let it cool to room temperature then grind it coarsely in grinder or crush with hands.

In another large pan, add same onion oil, add whole spices and give it a stir then add chicken and cook till changes colour on high flame.

Add ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame.

Add yoghurt and cook until yoghurt becomes watery on medium flame.

Add powdered spices and cook for 2 minutes on medium flame.

Cover and let cook for 15 minutes on lower flame and stir occasionally.

Uncover the pan, add prepared paste and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame.

Now add ground birista and mix well in chicken. Then add water, garam masala & kewra water. Stir for a minute.
