Pour 2 cups of water into a cast aluminum dutch oven.

Add 1 teaspoon of table salt.

Add 2 ounces of peanut oil and stir.

Turn the stove to high heat and cover the pot to bring water to a rapid boil.

Once boiling, add 2 cups of long grain white rice and stir to mix.

Wait for the water to evaporate and little holes to form in the rice.

Lower the flame to a simmer and stir the rice once.

Cover the pot with a lid, using aluminum foil if the lid isn't secure.

Cook for 15-20 minutes.

After 15 minutes, carefully remove the aluminum foil and fluff the rice.
