4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/3 cup dark rum

Peel two ripe bananas.

Cut the bananas into half slices or regular size small slices if preferred.

Preheat fire to medium-high heat in a large saucepan.

Add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter to the pan and spread it along the bottom.

Let the butter melt.

Add 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract to the melted butter.

Stir all ingredients together and let it come to a simmer.

Once simmering, add the banana slices to the pan.

Let the banana slices saute for about 1 minute on each side.

After one minute, flip the banana slices over and let them saute for another minute.

Add 1/3 cup of dark rum to the pan.

Tilt the pan at a 30-degree angle and ignite the rum for flambe.

Shake the pan slightly as the flambe occurs; it will go out in a few seconds.

Let the mixture saute for about 1 to 2 minutes after the flambe.

Turn off the fire when done.
