2 tablespoons rum

Peel the banana and slice it diagonally into about six thick pieces.

In a heavy bottom pan over medium to low heat, add 2 tablespoons of sugar and the split green chili.

Leave the sugar and chili alone for a few minutes until the sugar starts melting.

Once the sugar is mostly melted, move it around to infuse the chili flavor into the sugar.

Continue cooking until the sugar turns a nice caramel color, about 5 minutes.

Turn the stove to very low and add in 1 teaspoon of butter, mixing it through until melted.

Add the sliced bananas to the caramel and coat them evenly.

Pour in 2 tablespoons of rum and tilt the pan to let it flame up (the flame may not be visible).

After about 30 seconds, switch off the stove and add in 1/4 cup of coconut milk, adjusting the amount for desired consistency.

If the sauce is too watery, turn the stove back on to thicken it up.
