Kamote Turon is a popular Filipino snack that showcases the country's love for sweet treats made from local ingredients. Traditionally made with ripe sweet potatoes and sometimes jackfruit, this dessert is often enjoyed during merienda (afternoon snack) or as a street food delicacy. Its crispy exterior and sweet filling make it a beloved choice among Filipinos of all ages, and it has gained popularity beyond the Philippines, often found in Filipino restaurants worldwide.

Peel and cut the orange colored sweet potatoes.
Boil the sweet potatoes until soft, being careful not to overcook them.
Drain the sweet potatoes in a colander to remove excess liquid.
Mash the sweet potatoes in a bowl using a potato masher.
Add 2 tablespoons of margarine and 2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk to the mashed sweet potatoes and mix well.
Wrap the sweet potato mixture in spring roll wrappers, using egg whites to seal the wrappers.
Fry the wrapped sweet potatoes in cooking oil over medium heat until golden brown.
Caramelize 3 tablespoons of brown sugar in a pot.
Once the sugar is caramelized, add the fried kamote turon back into the pot and gently mix to coat with caramel.
