8 oz shredded phyllo dough
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoons rose water
2 tablespoons orange blossom water
1/2 cup pistachios
1 cup cream
2 cups milk
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon food coloring
1 tablespoon lemon juice

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Melt butter in a large bowl and mix in shredded phyllo dough until evenly coated.

Spread half of the buttered dough into a greased baking dish, pressing down firmly.

In a saucepan, combine milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt over medium heat, stirring until thickened.

Remove from heat and add vanilla extract, mixing well.

Spread the cream mixture over the first layer of dough in the baking dish.

Top with the remaining buttered dough, pressing down gently.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown.

While baking, prepare the syrup by boiling water and sugar together for 10 minutes.

Add lemon juice, rose water, and orange blossom water to the syrup, then set aside to cool.

Once the kunafa is baked, pour the cooled syrup evenly over the top.
