Kunafa

150 grams vermicelli
100 grams mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup milk
5 to 6 tablespoons sugar
butter
red food coloring
2 to 3 teaspoons rose water
2 teaspoons corn flour

Roast the vermicelli in softened butter until golden.

In a saucepan, combine milk and sugar; bring to a boil.

Add mozzarella cheese to the boiling milk and stir until creamy.

Mix corn flour with a little water and add to the cheese mixture, stirring until thickened.

In another saucepan, make sugar syrup with water and sugar; boil until one-string consistency is reached.

Add rose water and lime juice to the syrup to prevent crystallization.

Grease an oven-safe dish with butter and red food coloring.

Press half of the roasted vermicelli into the bottom of the dish.

Spread the creamy cheese mixture over the vermicelli layer.

Top with the remaining vermicelli and press down.

Bake in the oven at 350 degrees Celsius for 20 to 25 minutes.

Remove from the oven and pour the sugar syrup over the hot kunafa.

Garnish with chopped pistachios.
