1

Start by preparing 500 grams of kunafa, preferably 'tarha' style.

2

Cut the kunafa into strips about 1.5 feet long.

3

Roll the strips of kunafa tightly to form small rolls.

4

Place the rolled kunafa in a baking tray; no need to grease the tray.

5

Melt 1 cup of ghee (or butter) and pour it over the kunafa, ensuring each piece is well coated.

6

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius and bake the kunafa until golden brown.

7

Prepare the syrup by boiling 2 cups of sugar with 2 cups of water.

8

Once boiling, add the juice of 1/2 lemon and let it simmer for 7 minutes.

9

Remove the kunafa from the oven and pour the cold syrup over the hot kunafa, ensuring it soaks well.

10

Let the kunafa sit for 10 minutes to absorb the syrup before serving.
