Place 8 extra large eggs into the saucepan.

Fill the saucepan with cold water until it's at least 1 inch over the top of the eggs.

Add in 1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Turn the burner on medium heat and bring the water to a boil.

After 3 minutes, turn the burner on high until the water starts to boil.

Once boiling, let the eggs boil for 1 minute.

Remove the saucepan from heat and cover the eggs for 10 minutes.

Prepare a bowl or container with cold water and ice.

Using a slotted spoon, remove the cover and transfer the eggs into the cold water and ice.
