Start by roughly chopping 500 g of carrots.

Roughly chop 500 g of onions.

Cut 1 kg of pork shoulder into steaks and then cube it into fairly large pieces.

Cut 1 kg of chuck roll into fairly large cubes, leaving some silver skin on.

In a large pot, splash some oil in the bottom.

Layer in a bit of beef, a bit of pork, some carrots, some onions, a bay leaf, some o spice, and a bit of salt and pepper.

Pour in one can of beer and repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used up.

Cover the pot with a lid and prepare a fire.

Once the fire is going, place the pot in the fireplace to cook overnight.

Let the stew cook for about 10-11 hours until the meat is fall-apart tender.

Serve the stew with mashed potatoes.
