Bulgarian Kufteta

Kufteta, or Bulgarian meatballs, are a staple in Bulgarian cuisine, often enjoyed during family meals and gatherings. Traditionally made with a mix of meats and spices, these flavorful meatballs reflect the rich agricultural heritage of Bulgaria. Today, they are popular not only in Bulgaria but also in neighboring Balkan countries, with variations that include different herbs and grains, showcasing the adaptability of this beloved dish.

Soak some bread in good quality beer and mash it together.
Add garlic powder, cumin, salt, and parsley flakes to the bread mixture and mix well using two forks.
Cover the mixture and put it in the fridge for at least a few hours to let the flavors marry together.
Skewer the mixture into kebab shapes (optional, as they can also be made into small patties).
Preheat the grill to 350°F.
Pour yourself a glass of wine while cooking.
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 5 to 6 minutes on each side.
Defrost some rolls and pop them into the oven.
Once the rolls are done, slather them generously with butter.
