1

Coarsely blend red bell peppers, onion, thyme, and fresh basil using a chopper until it has a coarse texture.

2

Heat canola oil in a skillet until some of the oil floats.

3

Add ginger and garlic paste, black pepper seasoning powder, salt, and fish seasoning to the oil and cook.

4

Pat dry the large sea bream, then score the fish on both sides.

5

Generously apply the cooked marinade onto the fish, ensuring it gets deep into the belly and head.

6

Place onion slices on a baking sheet and put the fish on top of them.

7

Insert lemon slices inside the belly of the fish (optional).

8

Wrap the fish in foil and place it in a preheated oven set to broil at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes on the middle rack.

9

While the fish is cooking, peel and wash yams, then slice them using a crinkle slicer.

10

Season the yams with salt to taste and deep fry them in hot oil until fully cooked.

11

Add about 2 tablespoons of water to the yams while frying for better results.

12

Check the fish after 20-25 minutes; if not done, unwrap the foil, apply a little oil, and return it to the oven for an additional 5 minutes at 400°F (200°C).

13

Serve the fish with the fried yams and the sauce from cooking as a dip.
