Today, variations of Tilkut can be found across India, with different regions adding their unique twists to the classic recipe.

Turn on the stove.
Heat a pan and add oil.
Add sesame seeds to the pan and roast until they turn completely red, stirring continuously.
Once the sesame seeds are red, remove them from the heat and set aside.
In another pan, turn on the stove and add water first.
Add 5 kg of sugar to the water in the pan.
Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
Add 1 lemon to the mixture for cleaning purposes.
Boil the mixture for about 10-15 minutes until it reaches the desired consistency.
Grease your hands with oil to prevent sticking.
Once the sugar syrup is ready, add the roasted sesame seeds to the syrup.
Mix thoroughly until the sesame seeds are well coated with the syrup.
Shape the mixture into small round balls using your hands.
Place the shaped balls on a paper towel to cool completely.
Allow the balls to cool until they are firm before storing them.
