In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar to incorporate and set aside.
In another bowl, whisk together warm milk, 1 egg, vanilla, and melted butter, breaking up the egg as you mix.
Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, mixing as you go to avoid lumps, aiming for a thinner batter.
Heat a frying pan or flat griddle over medium-low heat and grease with butter or cooking spray.
Pour in a ladle of pancake batter and cook on each side for about 2 minutes, adjusting time based on the size of the pancakes.
Look for bubbles forming on the surface to know when to flip the pancake; the edges should also look cooked.
After flipping, you can cook longer if you prefer a darker pancake.
Continue cooking the rest of the pancakes, adjusting heat as necessary.
