They embody the Swedish love for simple yet delicious baked goods, often featuring ingredients like oats and nuts. Today, variations of these cookies are popular worldwide, with many adapting them to include local flavors and ingredients.

Use any cookie recipe you want; pre-made sugar cookie dough is used for convenience.
Roll out the cookie dough to at least 4 inches across using wax paper on top and bottom.
Cut the dough into a circle using a round object.
Sort M&M's into three colors: red for protons, blue for neutrons, and brown for electrons.
Bake the cookies according to the package instructions and let them cool.
Frost the cooled cookies with white icing.
Place six red M&M's (protons) and six blue M&M's (neutrons) in the center of the cookie to represent a carbon atom.
Use black icing gel to draw a circle around the nucleus for the first shell, placing two brown M&M's (electrons) in it.
Add four more brown M&M's (electrons) in the second shell around the nucleus.
For a nitrogen atom, place seven red M&M's (protons) and seven blue M&M's (neutrons) in the center.
Place two brown M&M's (electrons) in the first shell and five in the second shell around the nitrogen nucleus.
