Add 1/2 cup of warm milk to a plate.
Add 1 tablespoon of active yeast and 1 tablespoon of sugar to the warm milk and stir to combine.
Cover the mixture with a clean cloth and let it rest for about 8 minutes to activate the yeast.
In a mixing bowl, add 3 cups of all-purpose flour and sift it.
Add powdered milk, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt to the flour and mix with a spatula until combined.
Add a little water to the flour mixture and mix until a sticky dough forms.
Add 1 fresh egg and mix with the spatula until combined.
Transfer the dough onto a floured work surface and knead for 5 to 10 minutes until stretchy and well combined.
Grease a pan with vegetable oil and place the dough inside, covering it to rest for about 1 hour until it doubles in size.
After 1 hour, punch the dough to release bubbles and knead for a few more minutes.
Roll out the dough until smooth and thin, then trim the edges to make it neat.
Divide the dough into smaller portions and cover them to rest for about 20 minutes.
Heat enough vegetable oil in a pan until hot before adding the dough portions.
Regulate the heat to low to medium to prevent burning the outside while undercooking the inside.
Fry the doughnuts, tossing them in the oil until they achieve a golden brown color.
Remove the doughnuts and place them on paper towels to soak up excess oil.
